The Centre Aquatique Olympique (CAO) was built in Saint-Denis for the 2024 Olympic and Paralympic Games in Paris – the only permanent sports venue for the Games, hosting diving, artistic swimming and the preliminary rounds of water polo. Designed by Venhoeven CS and Ateliers 2/3/4, the building impresses with its curved wooden roof spanning 90 metres – the largest of its kind in the world. Solid wooden slats characterise the striking, wave-like façade and also serve as sun protection. Our THERM+ S-I steel façade was also part of this forward-looking project. The CAO has been awarded the BiodiverCity label, amongst other accolades, for its sustainable construction.
